Pray For Art

virgin mary

Soasig Chamaillard plays with the religious iconography of the Virgin Mary. Unlike much religious art, the French artist’s creations are intended to delight rather than shock the viewing public. It looks like you can buy a book on this site, but I don’t read French well enough to figure out how to buy it. Artist’s site via Notcot

Killer Street Art

street art

This site specific work appeared on the streets of Florence, Italy. I really like street art that interacts with its environment. The modified statue is actually shooting the ‘victim’ painted on the wall across the way. via Wooster

Giant Cardboard Robots

cardboard robots

These cardboard robots from design team Gagatree are not only packed with retro cool, they also provide valuable services to their owners. In addition to holding CD’s, these guys also have a space for a toilet paper roll. Keep an eye out for bumperstickers stating, “My kid’s butt gets wiped by a robot” to put all those parents of honor rollers on full blast soon. Gagatree link via ToysrREvil
